10 of us midwives (from Mercy) were sponsored to go to a medical conference a few days ago, and it was pretty fun! Some of the lectures weren't really my style, they talked about liposuction and tummy tucks as the best way to get rid of the postpartum belly instead of doing exercises! Yikes. Lots of drugs advertized, but free stuff given away, and a good chance to visit with other medical professionals.
I think our group was the most animated of them all. We knew how to have fun in life. At one point, they gave away free samples of different kinds of birth control, and I was on Family Planning Health Teaching at Mercy on Friday, so perfect! I used the samples as prizes to those who knew the answers to my questions. Great way to get them involved and help it to stick better.
