Kadayawan Festival

The Kadayawan Festival has been going on for about a week now, and we had to get in on all the fuss, so a bunch of us (as you can see from the jam packed car ride over) went to see some tribal dancing on Saturday. It was so amazing.

Lois and I went to meet up with Rachel Tacada and her brother, so we split from our group thinking we wouldn't have a hard time finding the other group of white people in the crowd, but we didn't end up finding them until the end, and even then couldn't get back together with them! Oh well.

The kids were made up to the T, with amazing costumes and great make-up :) I got some great pictures of the kids as they were waiting for their turn to perform, it was so fun, all I had to do was to pull out my camera, and the group of two suddenly turned into 6 or more all clamoring to get in the picture!

These kids were amazing dancers, I took a quick video of them so you can get a feel of the drum beat they danced so energetically to. Enjoy :) (If it doesn't work well here, follow the link to dropshots, where the original is uploaded. It works better there.)

Jenny,

Do you remember me? I did my internship in the RP with BCOM. I just found your link on a comment you left on Noemi's blog. You are AMAZING, girl! I had heard you were a midwife. I'm so glad you have this blog. I'll have to take some time to read more of it. I hope you are well!

Love,
Shari (Williams) Schwarz
